Fargo Printer Driver Settings for Barcode Printing

When printing barcodes on a card, it is necessary to insure that they are being printed using the K (black resin) panel on the print ribbon.  The following steps explain the steps necessary to force the printer to use the K panel when printing a barcode.

On the PC from which you are printing, click Start, then Settings, then Printers and Faxes. You may not have these exact choices depending on you installation of Windows.  You may need to open the Control Panel and select Printers.

In the Printers and Faxes page, Right Click on the driver for your printer and select Printing Preferences from the drop-down list.

On the Card tab, select the correct Orientation that matches your card design.Select the K Panel Resin tab.  Then check the box for Defined Area(s).On the card diagram, locate the small black square in the lower left corner and place you mouse cursor on the upper left corner, Left Click and Drag the corner to stretch the black box to a size that is slightly larger than the area required for the barcode.

Place the mouse cursor on the center of the defined black area, the defined area to the location on the card where the barcode is being printed.  This completes the setup for printing the barcode with the black resin ribbon panel.  Click OK to exit the printing preferences.

These steps apply to the standard printer driver included in all Fargo printers.
