Take the following trouble shooting steps if your Fargo DTC550 Ribbon Sensor Calibration Fails:
Update your printer driver and firmware and try the calibration again
If the calibration fails from the printer driver try a sensor calibration directly from the front panel of the printer
Try to calibrate with a different ribbon
If the printer squeals during the calibration the encoder wheel O ring is starting to fail and needs to be replaced
