For uninstalling cardPresso without losing the .card files, please uncheck the checkbox like image below:
Regarding the upgrade issue please go to CP » cardPresso License and click Check for Upgrades.
After that close cardPresso and open it again.
Confirm that the upgrade was done in CP » About cardPresso.
